  8. If ever there was a cousin who was a really good friend, it was you Joe. Going back to the hazy
years of our lives, we sparred
together, with the gloves on, but never, not once, did we ever
hurt each other… what we did
though, we respected each other, and that respect took the form of our friendship.
We met up again many years later, when l applied to an
    engineering company in
    Sunderland… The letter arrived
and when l saw that l had been successful, l saw that the author of that acceptance letter
was you, except that your name
showed Joseph B Shanley, and l
wondered for a while until l phoned you, and the next week l was travelling to Sunderland,
enjoying working with my cousin!…. To this day, l always call you Brian, and my mind
says Brian too… Then l found myself in a small village on the west coast of our country, and
for the duration of my job, l found myself a cottage in
    Beckermet, an ancient village
    which dated back to the
Viking era… The name of the
village meant *Where the becks met, and once again, two very special cousins met again for a few months. Always enjoying
    each other’s company.
I’ll meet up with you again Brian, Joe, so save me a spot so
we can catch up with each other…. somewhere warm and sunny, where time means enjoying friendship and family and there is no pain, and we can bide awhile. Until then cousin, don’t fly too near the sun.

  9. Just a Great Bloke 👍
    😢 Riposi in Pace 🙏

  10. Grandad, you were truly one in a million and a force to be reckoned with. Funny, kind, loving and caring and most certainly easily wound up by people, and we know how that goes😂
I will always remember and cherish our time together and just the little things are so special to me. What I would do to go to the races with you, or take you for a coffee and cake at the Brazilian or simply just go shopping and have you push the trolly around whilst picking all the sweets and cakes as we go.
I love and miss you so much. You are forever in my heart and I can’t wait for the day we meet again. Never a goodbye, but see you again and until then rest peacefully in paradise xxxxx

  11. Darling Brian / Joe, what a wonderful man you were, a fantastic Dad, Grandad & Friend to so many. I will think of you fondly often & hope your up there playing snooker & having a pint with my Dad surrounded by your loved one’s. Your Dash was filled with love. Rest in Peace Dear Brian
    With Love ❤️
